Hello! I’m Julia McGuigan an illustrator, educator, and mom. My love of art began in childhood while creating with my mother, who is also an artist. I grew up in Papillion, attended Papillion-La Vista High School, and later earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2014, I studied art and Spanish at Veritas Universidad in San José, Costa Rica, where travel and architecture became lasting inspirations

About ten years ago, I began illustrating Omaha neighborhoods and selling my work at local markets. In 2020, I started my M.A. in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design while teaching in Omaha Public Schools, graduating in 2023.

I now teach Painting and Drawing at Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs and live in Omaha with my husband and our three boys in Benson. I’m proud to raise our family in Nebraska and create illustrations for my community to enjoy.
